It's been a recurring theme since we met last May; the idea of hopping in our 1986 VW Westfalia and just...driving south! As has the John Hiatt song "Drive South", hence the naming of this blog: "Come on baby drive south, with the one you love!"...it's been resonating and reverberating and ringing true for us....so...with the holidays behind us and the winter winds beginning to howl...off we go! ( Launch date around Jan 15th, 2014.) We hope this blog will help those we love, as well as those who may be dreaming of the same kind of adventure and have stumbled upon this blog, to keep track of our travels and perhaps some travails. We expect we'll meet many good people and to find opportunities to help out some folks (and animals!) in need along the way. We look forward to experiencing lots of live music, learning more Spanish, eating new foods, finding beautiful natural spots, enjoying new cultures, expanding our minds! Our loosely formed destination is Costa Rica...we'll see how far we get....thanks for joining us! Karen and Tom
